What exactly is a Hyrox session at CFGC?+
A one-hour small-group coached class, built around the 8 Hyrox stations and the run transitions. Depending on the slot, it's either technical work station by station (learning the sled, the sandbag, the pacing) or a full timed simulation. The coach scales the loads to your level, from beginner to competition prep.
I'm a CrossFit beginner, can I do Hyrox?+
Yes. Hyrox is more accessible than pure CrossFit because the movements are less technical (no muscle-up, no heavy weightlifting). It's running + functional stations. You can start from day one as long as you have a base level of cardio. The coach teaches you the technique on the specific stations (sled, sandbag) that aren't part of every sport.
What's the difference between Hyrox and CrossFit?+
CrossFit varies: every WOD is different, you train everything (strength, gymnastics, metabolic, weightlifting). Hyrox is fixed: 8 km of running + 8 stations, always the same, in the same order. You compare your time. You can do both: CrossFit builds your engine, Hyrox gives you a timed goal to chase.
How many sessions a week to prepare for a Hyrox?+
To finish solidly: 2 Hyrox + 2 WOD a week over the last 3 months. To aim for a podium or top 100: 3-4 Hyrox + 1-2 WOD + 1 extra long run. We help you dose it based on your profile, your target time and your training history.
Do you have all the official Hyrox equipment?+
Yes: SkiErg Concept2, sled push 102 kg + pull, floor-marked burpee broad jump zone, wall balls 6/4 kg, sandbags 20/10 kg, kettlebells 24/16 kg for the farmer carry. You get the exact gear used in competition.
Can I come only for the Hyrox sessions?+
Yes. The 2 WOD/week membership covers any class on the schedule, including the Hyrox slots. So you can come twice a week in pure Hyrox mode if that's your focus. Unlimited gives you access to the 5 Hyrox slots + the WOD + the other specialties (weightlifting, gym).
Can I do a drop-in just to try Hyrox?+
Yes, 18 € (15 € for students) for a single session, no membership needed. You can pick a Hyrox slot on the schedule and come give it a go. Book on the Deciplus app, pay on site.
Where do I sign up for the Lyon Hyrox?+
Official registration is on the Hyrox France site (france.hyrox.com). Hyrox stops in Lyon, at Eurexpo (Chassieu). CFGC isn't the organizer, we're the box where you can train for it year-round. If you're targeting the event, we can help you pick your format (solo, doubles, relay).
